Hey all ... My old com has finally died and im building a new one ... simple parts and hope all the bros out here can help with suggestions (esp.Nashaz and bianco cause they got awesome ideas for rigs lor)

Went to Carrefour to get the house brand grinder. $20 only compared to the dremels that the pros are using ... me = noob so use noob grinder... one thing is that the grinder is easily heated up ... like till 68deg after 3 mins of usage.

Well, i got a old casing. but sadly forget to take pic before starting ... but i got the front plastic cover off... then washed the dusty casing ... i already did a small drawing of what i wanted to do already

This is the sketches of the final product ... the only change so far is that the front will be a piece of mirror ...

The RAM coolers unlike the usual top suck/blow fans.

Hard disk mount with a 120mm fan behind to cool the drives ...

I will get someone to engrave this for me ...

And this is what i have done today from 7pm.

The tools from carrfour ... with some random bits from daiso ... the cutting bit is really durable according to the auntie i asked at plaza singapura Daiso ...

Then there is the back fan exhaust ... i cut out the grill a while back ... now its time to tidy up ...

Damage done to the back...

And the noise begins ... Sorry to those who stay upstairs or downstairs..

Only managed to finish half ... cause too noisy already ... will complete the other half tomorrow ...

The harddisk bay has to go !!!!

CHEAP AND GOOD !!!!

My grinding skills suck ... this happened because i had to grind off the rivets there ...

More training is definitly required ....

Bottom right is the last hole to be done ... and the least marks too .... there is actually improvement LOL !!!

The 2 panels are done ...

Will do more planning tomorrow ... Check for updates ... i think its gonna fail ...

great job on the 3d sketch, that was one thing i wanted to do before i started mine... but too noob to use google sketchup and too eager to start on the project. haha.

looking good. what do you plan to use for the top? red acrylic? that would be awesome! i like your idea for the pull up top. great to use those piston types that would lock in place after you raise it up.

btw, you can use some masking tape around the area that you'd be working on. would lessen the scratches on your case. less filling and preparation for painting later on.

But if don't have drill then can use grinder mah. Anyways for the mistakes you made you can try using sandpaper to sand it flat. Anyways I saw you during the RX-8 battle in Bugis the other day. I was amazed at how well you can control the RX-8.

i try my best to design this kinda of stuff on sketchup ... for the red acrylic right ... i was wondering if there is such thing as UV reactive REd acrylic ... then looks more exotic ... haha ... as for the pistons right ... it will be mini circuit board to control the piston ... and buttons at the back to activate the up and down ... tedious work but nice can liaoz ...

i just bought masking tape from the bookshop downstairs ... will start masking and post pics later ...

Point taken ... but the drill bit ar ... cannot make it one ... once i apply pressure ... then will tio ta ... stuck for the malay friends reading ...

thanks ... but be warned ... this WILL take time cause im going into NS soon ... zzzZZzzz ... JAN 2009 ... will try and rush finish... cause now working and lack of $$$$ ...

Sadly havent invested in a drill lehx ... will try to sandpaper off the marks ... cause quite ugly ...

U SAW ME PLAY AT BUGIS ???? WHEN AR ??? I LONG TIME NO PLAY LIAOZ >.< ... im a noob compared to people like lulu and the other clans ...

for the acrylic, yes, ac ryan carries them. i only saw them in ppc. but you can pm ACeRyan if it's available locally.

wonderful idea on the piston! can't wait to see that in action!

haha ... have to visit SLT for the Circuit board for 12V support ... and the mechanical stuff ... haha ... will be updating my post in a bit ... masking out the fan area ... maybe send to UVnium for the blowhole ...i want a nice clean cut ... bianco bro ... can PM me ur MSN if u dun mind ..
