Project Log: Black Square Kozato Nov 15th, 08, 03:44 AM #1 (permalink)
I will be doing up an old Silverstone TJ-03 to house a Quad Core, 4870x2 and a full custom W/C kit!

Cutting up the casing before powdercoating:

After powdercoating:

Using a temporary setup while waiting for my hardwares and toys:

Since the default blue led for power indication and hdd activity indication is plain and clashes with my theme, I decided to do a bit soldering. And the results:

As I am free, I decided to join up 6 red led to make a ring of light. No prizes for guessing what would this be used for though:

I know the female fan connector is weird, but I will explain it later.

But hey, I need some advice though. Do I need to insulate the exposed joints between each led? if yes, what should I use? I think sleevings and heatstrinks seems a little bit impossible here.

Just coating the exposed leads with a hot glue gun should be easy once you try it cos the glue cools and hardens very rapidly.

Minor Update: Black Screws Kozato Nov 16th, 08, 09:23 PM #10 (permalink)
A small update before the weekday starts.

Got down to work to paint the 6/32 screws and also the pci bay brackets.

To do list:

1. Insulate LED ring
2. Redo CCFL/LED switch
3. Redo cable management (includes sleeving)
4. Mod the top panel to align radiator mounting holes
5. Mod Corsair Dominator ram cooler
6. Create cover for fan controller
7. (Plausible) Rewire led for the fans to CCFL/LED switch
8. Assemble my sister's rig
9. Hoot a tripod to take photos

There might be more to come....

I used a High Temp Enamel spray paint called Derusto. You can buy it from Self-fix. $15.90 per can. No need to use primer.
