wife told son yesterday.. if chinese spelling every 1 point deducted out of the total of 8 points , she will "cut" off one finger... today son came back from class and pass her results.. 7.5 out of 8.. and he told mummy "Mummy, 7.5 , 0.5 cannot cut finger.. so need not cut"... Mrs was stumped...hahahahaha

setting up the IP video server was a breeze. Then i had to portforward the port thru the router to the world to see. hehehe...

FTP of motion captured are sent to a remote NAS. Remote site NAS is running a NSLU2 latest firmware from Linksys US site.

i am surprised that the latest firmware supports NTFS / FAT32 format. meaning i can port the drives around to any other windows based computer. Previous the NSLU2 was using the EXT3 format ( linux based )

Total cost
IP Video : $120
Cameras : $65 x 4
Wiring : Aprox $20

Total about $400.. cheap considering what i am able to do.. hehehehe alone ...

Nice. The four RCA connectors for 4 different cameras? That's it? Quite a good device.

- Can this be viewed online?
- Can it record?

- depends on camera --> one of my cam has IR LEDs to view in darkness.
- yes it can.. be viewed over the internet..
- record yes.. but you need hell lots of HDD space hahaha... so i only set it up for motion detection capture at 5ms. good enough for me.... unless the person zip in and out of my home faster than 5ms then i cant capture.. hehehehe
