[Classified]

Hey everyone, today I just bought 12 HP Vectra Computers for $20. Each has a Pentium I 200 MHZ MMX, 64 to 192 MB of Ram, Floppy Drive, CD Drive, and a 2 to 6 GB HDD. All boot to Windows 2000, except for 2 which don't boot. Pretty good deal IMO, $1.67 USD each.



I want to mod one into a smaller, more quiet, cooler looking PC to run as the Browsing Station for just basic's like email, web, chatting, and office work, all on linux, or as a server. Then I could use another as a LAN Appache Web Server for testing, and if the hardware can support it, run one and infect it with malware, viruses, and trojans to see how bad it can possibly get, then see if it's possible to recover it, just for fun.

And if you think of any mods, or hardware type things, please tell me.

Anyways, now I'm wondering, what to do with all of these? Please give as many suggestions as you can, even if they're kinda silly.

Just spray it black , clean ALL the dust and make it look as brand new. and sell the kids for 20 bucks each .

NAS server with FreeNAS?
What the hell to do with the rest of them?

I plan to run 1 as a browsing station, 1 as a NAS Server, and keep 1 for other small stuff. I'm going to offer them to people I know first, then, on craigslist.

Does anyone know some projects I can do with the 2 broken ones and also uses for some of the working ones? Anything? Like turning the CD Drive laser into a laser pointer, or throwing it off a building, or something fun? I'll donate the ones I don't use and recycle the parts, but I'd like to get some use out of what I paid for.
