[Project #2] 5th Deadly Sin, WRATH, Satan's Wrath GegeV2 Apr 19th, 09, 10:41 PM #1 (permalink)
Hi guys, before I start, just wanted to share abit...

Been having a tough emotional period recently, and i turned to one of my hobbies to keep myself distracted....may or may not help, i do not know, but it does provide me a sense of achievement when i see the end product, and the process i gone through....

Besides, I have always wanted to do a AMD Rig too

For starters,

According to Binsfeld's classification of demons,
Satan is a demon associated with Wrath, No.5 of the Seven Deadly Sins

Now without further ado,

I present to you guys,

The 5th Deadly Sin

Satan's Wrath

Phenom II X4 940 BE

DFI 790FXB M2RSH

The Board itself

Team Xtreem Dark DDR2 1066 4GB | PowerColor 4670 PCS

Single Platter WD 250GB

Seagate 7200.12 500GB

Seasonic M12II 430W

Thermalright TRUE Black | 3x Zalman F3 Red LED

LianLi PC-7F W

PC-7F W compared to ATCS 840...surprisingly small

Now that's all on the major components....

There is abit of imbalance in my selection of components as most have noticed...
  • The 4670 is abit on the weaker side, as compared to most of the components, however, i had to choose on proc+board OR gfx
Gfx can be upgraded at a later time i guess...

  • The WD 250GB is second hand, and given the results from buyer, it looks to be pretty promising.

  • As for the Seagate 500GB .12, that was an itchy hoot

  • The Seasonic works fine, is proven and is cheap too, so extremely value for money, its modular too!

  • As for the casing, was initially considering the A05-N, but this was only a few dollars more......

  • The cooling stuff was quite value for money, despite being second hand.

Stay tuned as I proceed further

Am wondering which would look best...

Have came up with these 3 front panel color scheme.....

Which is better?

Black Border with Red Insides

Red Border with Black Insides

Black Border with Alternate Red Insides

Or a Pure RED Panel would be better?

hey bro. nice to see another project in the works.
i'd go for red and black insides, just that the drive bays would be all black for me and not alternating red-black. good luck painting over brushed alu... those 'brush' effects might show up even after spraying which could be bad if you want a smooth even finish.

btw, it's good to turn to positive distractions especially on tough times. more projects!

I vote number one with black inner.. like brianco said... spray on alu maybe a little tricky.. go my matt black so imprefect is harder to spot.. U may consider... priming the surface first...
