Actually I just completed the project. I did it for my darling baby sister for her birthday (which was like way past the deadline, super belated haha!)

I like to thank Bro Gary & Bernard for helping me getting the materials & mods.

Well, for the project, I'm gonna use slight airbrushing. Rest of the stuffs nothing crazy haha.
This is the 1st time, after almost 8 years, I going use my airbrush... My skills abit rusty liao... Hope effects still not too bad..

The Materials:



Processor : Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
Mobo : DFI JR-P45-T2RS
Soundcard : Creative X-Fi Titanium Fata1ty Champion Series
Cooler : Thermalright XP-120 with Scythe Kaze-Jyuu Slim 100mm (2000RPM)
Graphics : MSI R4890 OC 1GB DDR5
PSU : Coolermaster Silent Pro Series M600
Case : Silverstone SG-02F

There are some other items which I didnt took photos of... nevermind, let's continue!

Instead of going into much details of what I had done, I posting on the slightly different things I did.

I knew that fitting a R4890 into SG-02F will become a mini oven if planning went wrong.
I even tried putting a few copper heatsinks on the 4890!

One of the issue of SG-01/02 was the area around CPU is hot. Due to the exhuast is done by the PSU, may not be very effective. Silverstone did released the crossfan to handle this but heard that its pretty loud.

So instead of the crossfan, I went for 2x 40mm fans (with bling bling).

The fan mounted on the Thermalright XP-120 is blowing into the PSU.

Behold! The highlight! This is the signature logo of my Sis (she is a professional graphics designer, any one need freelance?? LOL).



This is the logo I am going to airbrush on the top of the case.

Now fitting everything into the case! Thank god I chose the Silent Pro M600... The modular cables are flat type, just like Corsair HX series (Which got no stock that time when I was looking...). for the cables, I actually folded them to the length I need, taped them & sleeved. Again... was to into taping & sleeving... didnt took pictures.. (facepalm).. Well, at least bros here understand what I did, which in any near future, you can try.

Finally, finished the project in time. It's not easy to keep taking photos and doing the work at the same time haha. Kudos to the other bros that's able to take every detail shots!

SG-02F is a very nice case, only thing is I had problems fitting the JR-P45-T2RS with Thermalright XP-120 fitted.. The HDD cage was unremovable and was not giving allowance... I had to really SQUEEZE my way in... Quite a headache haha.

So far the CPU temperature was ok, idling at 39~40, load around 45~50 in room temperature. Maybe Q9550 is not a really hot core haha. Definitely R4890 is a hot card but in such small case, idling at 60 with fan spining at 25%, not too bad. Yet to load the graphics, will ask my Sis to run her Left 4 Dead for a few hours and see!

My friend got for me from Chaxoma, er i think ard $19. There's 2 version, 1000rpm & 2000rpm. Prices slight diff.

Maybe you can cut the side panel so can let the graphics card intake air from outside?

Wanted to but after I did some monitoring, I realized that the airflow from the HDD fan is sufficient as there's not much blockage. Plus I had one of the top fan blowing on the graphics.

So far, the area towards the rear of the graphics card is slightly warm. Either I will try to boost up the graphics card's fan via software or may reconsider on cutting the side panel.

Nice casing and setup. I can see that these casing is amazing, can squeeze everything in.

The hard disk rack got problem to mount 2 harddisk? My Silverstone SG-02F White is coming so abit worry.

sff builds like this always make me curious on building one myself.
takes skill to make everything nice inside and not look cramped, and you were able to do it.
good job. and nice touch with the signature airbrush.
