Doing this for the lady of my life, my wife. Got her the V350 almost a month ago but I realised that the case is a little warm. So I went to seek advise & help from Gary (UVium) and here we are, a new mini project on upgrading & recabling! Also took the chance to do a overhaul for her.

New components for my lady:

1. Asus Maximus II Gene
2. Asus EAX4890 1GB DDR5 (Dual Fan)
3. Corsair Dominator CL5 2GB x2 with Airflow kit
4. Corsair HX620W
5. Coolermaster GeminII S

Reusing:

1. Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700
2. Seagate HDDs (1x 320GB, 2x500GB)
3. LG DVD Writer.

This time, nothing fancy like airbrushing... Just simple mods and cable management haha.

Gary suggested to add 2x 50mm fans just above the rear I/O panel. Another was cutting a blow hole on the rear 80mm fan mounting plate.

So here we are, final results of modding:

Finally, all done up. Although she didnt complain about me doing nice setup for my Sis, but can feel it haha! Hope she will be happy with the current system!


System running fine for a few days. Only thing is I turned the fan on GeminII S from top down to blowing into the PSU.

Temperature had drop 1-2 degrees but I noticed the PSU is quite hot... Any bro is using HX620W but using in SUGO series or same configuration like mine (Which is HSF blowing into the PSU)? Is the PSU hot too??

Using HX620 but in a standard mid tower. This PSU is quite hot running so no worries.

very nice setup. maybe u can consider tower like hsf like the Noctua NH-U9B where the fan exhaust to the rear instead of the psu.
