Been thinking about this project for a long time...so decided to move my lazy ass to do something about it...Its going to be a black and red theme for this rig...So bear with me cos this project may drag for a few months...

Spec:

CPU + Mobo= AMD P2 X3-720 + DFI LP DK790FXB-M2RSH
Ram= DDR2-800 Kingston HypperX 4Gb kit
GFX= Palit HD4870 Sonic 1Gb
DVD combo= Sony 22x SATA
Casing= CM690 Pure
PSU= CM Real Power M620


D Day...

Got my hands on the CM690 Pure...lazy to spray paint the normal version..Nice packaging though..


Unpacking it..

Using the Carrefour + heavy duty cutter to cut out the mesh..


After cutting and filing...

Going to ask for Gary's help for the cutting of the side panel...


Top exhaust fans to be cut by me..


Done..Going to touch up the edges with black paint marker..


The back of the CPU...for easy installation o aftermarket CPU cooler..


Red and black theme...so these have to go..

i do agree with what u going to do.. the stock CM690 side windows look damn awful can.. keen to see yr progress.

Got these today...Thanks to Charles and Kirk from Murder Mod for the sleeving kit + ATX removal tool...works like a charm..

Thats all for today...left the PCI-E cable..part o the 8 pin mobo..part o 4 pin peripheral power..i think thats about it ba..Argggh..so many..

Yes they are Bro...its about 9.5mm...Hope this helps...


Completed the 8 pin +12v mobo pin..


Before and after of the PCI-E 6 pin...one more to go..


Got a question Bros and Sistas...in the course o sleeving the PCI-E cable...found a piece o ferrite core on the wire..is it ok to use the cable w/o it?...thanks!...

Thanx a lot bro really appreciate it. Great unisleeving job and do take your time to sleeve the cables as those premium quality sleeves aren't cheap. Waiting to see sleeved sata cables next

Does the MurderMod ATX pin removal really work well on all type of plugs? even for the SilverStone 24pin ATX female section of the extension?

Ya the ATX removal tool is capable o removing all sorts o ATX type pins...Silverstone?..no problem also..once the legs o the tool goes in...the cables can be removed easily...no sweat....recommended..no more poking o fingers for me!..

Oh ya...about the ferrite core..can use without it?...thanks!

Nice work

If other brands can package their cables without the ferrite core, then I believe its fine to run yours without it too.

ferrite core is for anti emi so you probably don't need it.

I think its made of SECC ba cos quite hard...
