Please also don't complain "why so unfair why my thread locked, then so and so's thread not locked" - we only have a few fishing rods, but eventually we will catch all the fishes in the sea.
We're also clamping down on violators regardless of whether they are "laojiao", "small time", "many forumers like me", "charity/not for profit" (lol you expect me to believe), post count or reputations. Cannot means cannot!

| 1. We didn't invent this rule to earn more money. We have enough from advertising and other sources not to collect a few dollars here and there. 2. We don't like companies earning money on our turf without our acknowledgement. Its the very same reason why you can't just unilaterally wheel in an ice-cream cart into any shopping mall and sell ice-cream without getting shooed away. We're not here to help you boost traffic to your site/shop/blog or improve your SEO. 3. Other forums have similar rules - e.g Marketplace Forum's Rules & Regulations - www.hardwarezone.com.sg 4. Our Mass order forums are still a viable avenue for users affected by this rule. We don't collect fees only a photocopy of your I/C in case something goes wrong. There is nothing to be uncomfortable about unless you're unsure about your own goods 5. We're willing to listen to all offers when you email us at cs@vrmedia.com.sg. Thats why Jai-dev can have his threads because he contributes to the community by writing up some of the stickied informations. 6. Statistically after implementing this rule, we've observed a sizable increase in traffic of the Garage Sales forum. Users like the allure of browsing an uncluttered thread list of purely 2nd hand goods in a forum meant for 2nd hand goods. You might say otherwise but our stats prove that we're right. The team and I have been getting dozens of PMs and emails about this, some willing to work out jai-dev type deals with us, while other more recalcitrant ones write bravado abusive and borderline criminal stuff. We admit that this process could have been more slimlined and tactful, as some of you traders have grown sentimentally attached after closing numerous sales and building up trade rep. For this I apologize. |

No commercial interest thread is allowed in Market Place! ColdFusion Nov 3rd, 09 until Dec 4th, 09 Ban | Dear members, In order to protect the interest of the community and to maintain the original ideas Market place, we would like to inform current members who have threads in Market place with commercial interest to cease their operations by end of 6th November 2009. Otherwise, we will forcefully remove the threads. We would like to stress that the oringinal idea of Market Place is for trading/sales of unwanted goods and products and not a shop front for products or services. We have received feedbacks from long time VR-Zone forum members that members with commercial threads in Market Place are spoiling the feel of the Market place forums. Over the months, we are very lenient with such commercial users considering that such threads will allow other members with more choices. However, we also noticed that such commercial users tends to use VR Forums just as a free advertising and promotion avenue providing no real benefits to our genuine forum members. We would also like to inform members who wish to do Mass Orders, please kindly inform us to get yourself verified - no fees are involved. Lastly, if you would like to use VRForums as a form of platform to get a reach a greater mass, kindly send us an email: cs at vrmedia.com.sg Regards Steve |
