Not sure whether anyone have the upgraded version 8 of AVG. Previously was using the Ver 7.5 ( together with spybot ) and was prompted to download the Ver 8. So far I'm using the new Ver 8 that come with spyware detection including whatever Ver 7 had. I would rate it as 7/10 now and see what is the status. This time spybot is not install so that I can check the effectiveness of the built-in spyware program.

I have tried AVG8 as well but sometimes it gave me some update problem...so i decided to uninstall it and went back to Avira instead since they already solve their update issue.

For the new AVG8 with anti-spyware, i am not too sure about the effectiveness compare to the pro edition. If their engine is from Ewido (bought over by AVG) for their free edition then should be Ok.

FYI, Spybot & Ad-Aware are already outdated...they can't keep up with the growing malwares around. There are much better products out there. You can actually try out SAS & MBAM. These two itself are actually enough for anti-spy & malwares.

Yes! (for paid product)
For paid products, i will go for Avira Premium, Nod32 & Kaspersky only
But Kapersky is more resources hungry to me compare to nod32 & Avira.

Nice to hear is working for you. Remember to get other on demand scan from other product to scan as well cos AVG8-Free detection really cannot make it. It missed a few trojans on my side.

Me using ESET Smart Security(NOD32 company). Its pretty good too...very light program, only thing that irritates me...is that the pop-up balloon after each update will still appear in games zzz. And it pop up very often due to the constant updates rofl.

If i ignore it it will disappear after a while...but sometimes i got to click that area fast...and if i click it will minimise to windows haha. I send a suggestion to them already hope they can improve on this the next version.

I sure you have not see this setting to disable "desktop notification and balloon tips" options?

Highly Recommended. for Kaspersky and Panda.

Both are rock solid.!!!

For the best result get the Internet Security edition.

Cost more but is worth it. Today's A-V prices has become affordable liao.
No need to pay an arm or leg for it so support Original !!!!
