Whey Protein Joel_K Jan 15th, 09, 12:44 PM #1 (permalink)
Yo, was researching about Whey, a form of protein supplement for lean-muscle building. However, I'm kinda doubtful about eating supplements to gain muscle.

Would like some advice on whether protein supplements can actually help speed up muscle building (lean, not bulk) and which type to go for if it does.

Anyone takes them? Share please ?

Thanks!

yes protein is necessary for building muscles, provided you workout consistently.
whey protein is good as it is cheap and easily absorb by the body.
Diet also plays a part too.

If ya wan lean muscles, do high rep low intensity weight training.
But do you wanna lose weight too or jus build muscles?

i am taking whey protein. quite effective because it helps you to recover faster. so u dont feel the ache after 1 day. thus you can pump more.

as for lean/bulk muscle, from what i understand is :
bulk= heavy weight+less rep
lean= light weight+ more rep

Oic. Correct me if I'm wrong but that means Whey protein is more like a muscle-replenisher instead of a muscle-builder?

Please understand that no matter what, your diet is most critical.

Supplements are just that, to supplement your diet and training regime and not a shortcut to cheat on meals or skip them altogether.

Whey Protein in particular is mainly for recovery.

Remember that muscles don't grow when you are in the gym but out of it during rest/sleep.
