hey people, good to see active cyclist here! anyway i dont want to hijack this post but im in need of opinions from any cyclist! so far i have gotten none from another forum

cos i just sold my old bike and wishes to buy a new bike to bring to bukit timah =) got 2 in mind, the cheaper khs alite 500 versus the diamondback response.. the khs alite 1000 which is way out of my budget at 1.3K. =)

the alite 500 is about 300 bucks cheaper due to alivio parts and spinner 100mm fork.. though i presume it to be much lighter... with the 300 bucks saved, i can perhaps buy accessories like lizard skin chain guard or what.. or or, save up that money so that in the future, i can use it to upgrade/replace some components on the bike..

the response is more of a heavy duty bike.. looks more solid ah.. the frame, the 120mm mazoochi fork. i mean, im not sure of how reliable spinner forks are as compared to the other renown brand =) my heart is really swinging more towards the diamondback cos for 300 bucks more, i can get sram parts, better fork and frame, better brakes!

im a thrify fella and thus if i can save on certain areas, i will.. dont want to spent unnecessarily..perhaps there isnt a need for me to get better parts?? and just save that 300? im uncertain!!
