ASUS P5WDH Deluxe Testing Shamino Aug 16th, 06, 12:01 PM #1

Testing out with ASUS P5WDH Deluxe & X6800

ASUS did not pack the socket full, so I decided to do it myself:

Testing with 7900GTX SLI Hacked Drivers

Compared it with KingPin's Amazing 16.8K Run:

The above shows that with Core 2 Duo at 4.5G+, 3D Mark 06 becomes GPU limited once again, save for the CPU Tests. Just look at the SM2.0 & SM3.0 results, they're very close. That's quite a change from our FX60/62 days when it was mostly about pushing the CPU as high as you can to boost SM performance.

Also did a quick run with 3D 01. Didn't try to find the LOD sweet spots, but the cards love running on this board, just take a look at the Nature score

Cards will do 1076/1098 through Nature, and that's a hell high Nature score of 989fps!

i dunno dont think it did but surely didnt harm\
m,aybe w better cooling it may, or kentsfield. if i can keep evap at -90c all the way i can bench through mark 06 cpu test @ 4.9+G but @ 1.85v the x6800 throws out quite a bit of heat
LN2 will do the trick

Nice findings.

Thx for the correction. So, where did u get the solder pads from??? Can get it from any electrical shop in SLT???

Will adding the pads effect the voltage or current supplied to the cpu. Will it increase the stability of the chip when oc as compared to before???

Eh Shamino nature LOD 3.1 for nature .... plus with a little bit more CPU power 1k is no problem. I tried LOD 0, LOD 10 and LOD 3.1 for nature, 3.1 gives at least 5-10 fps advantage for me.

Is this the revised P5W DH with 1.85v MCH option in bios ? I've been told by my Asus contact a new revision of P5W DH is coming with max 1.85v MCH out of the box
