Extreme Overclocking ATi X1950XTX Shamino Sep 2nd, 06, 02:13 PM #1

Alright, so we have put the X1950XTX under the cold Cascade cooling. Hot? Yes, hotter than X1900XTX. Issues? Yes Software Bugs... Core hit high speed? Yes, 927MHz Core benchmark stable!

Woah quite a few problems there. =D. Maybe Ati purposely placed some anti-nail varnish tech on their PCB to prevent cascade cooling ?

Then again a single card score of 17k isn't too bad, esp when you are underclocking your Conroe !

I can accept failure. Everyone fails at something. But I can't accept for not trying.

i still dont get the anal retentiveness regardin the nail varnishhhhh
it's like the most harmless thing thats nvr failed me broke the 100% fail-safe record
also i jsut wonder why the core runs hotter than the x1900's... could be due to slightly diff power management, 6 FETs instead of 7, perhaps. but definitely so, i've benched on that cascade a zillion times so i know what temps it doe s each card.

You seem so disappointed nail varnish has sort of 'disabled' the card.

Anyway, did you cool the rams also ? Or they got cooled by the sub zero core ?

no need to give a rats ass about the mem till a proper oc tool come out for it to clock it above 1143, and also timings tuning which the mems need

I think the crew just had to do it for that video.

Btw, the pot in the first pic is strategically placed !
