512kb = L2 cache

tray = means no box, OEM, 1 year warranty or less, doesn't come with heatsink

box = 3 years warranty, comes in a box and stock heatsink.

Well, to be exacting--since the initial poster started on L2 caches--, the current P4EE has 512MB of L2 cache only, but also houses 2MB of L3 cache. Future versions are rumored to have 1MB of L2 cache.
