Casing recommendation CHeeKMunK Mar 30th, 05, 10:14 PM #1 (permalink)
Was wondering which models were good?
My room is such that my tower would be placed near the wall which has windows. I have a ceiling fan and it's always on full blast.

What kind of casing would you guys recommend?
-My budget is ard $130, might stretch a little... not too much.
-I dun like those towers whereby u have to open a door to access the drives.
-Hope it comes with 1 or 2 fans, if not MUST have an option to attach at least 2 92mm fans.
-Windowed side panel, if have nice. If not too bad, save and buy another time.
-Pls don't tell me C5. I don't like the front panel look.

Many thanks.

Woah... uber fast response.
What's the price?
Also while we're at it, should I get Verudiam or TruePower?

Hmm... Let's just say I'm not really keen on spending more than $250 on casing and PSU.
Guys in the first place, judging by my room conditions, do you think I need the aluminium casing?
I do intend to oc my CPU, g card and RAMS but not at crazy levels.

eh....aluminum does not help to cool your components lar....airflow is more important...

steel is good for rooms cos can play soccer and don't need to worry ^^

And its cheaper. Only problem is that it's heavier, but doesn't really matter lar....carry once only what. Singapore got not many lan parties haha

I thought alu disspate heat faster?
Uh... actually I dun join LAN parties but my friends like to play LAN so we often gather at one of our places and bring our towers.
Actually was considering the Antec Lanboy but I don't know how it looks like. I don't really trust photographs as well.

Here's an idea.

Get a second hand HEC 6AU6 from the comp garage, I think skinfreak is selling his.

Buy a new 350W be quiet power supply ?

Bingo.

He's selling his with the PSU.
And I'm trying to avoid beige. My speakers are black.

IF that's the case, then for $130, I reckon you get a good psu first?

Then down the road, if you see anyone selling a black casing, grab it.
