Never ever buy handhone in Sim Lim Square gradoo Sep 3rd, 09, 12:10 PM #1 (permalink)
My friend last week try to buy a handphone in Sim Lim square but got terrible experience.
The sales man, I think must be the store owner asked him to pay money first, before try the new handphone. My friend agreed to pay before try it, but found the new Nokia handphone is traditional chinese system, so he require to refund. The sales man refused to do it and told him, the Sim Lim square security guard and police all his friends. There is no such way to refund!!!
No choice, my friend have to go the court and suit him.Still don't know the result yet.
Maybe next day, I will leave the store name here after I asked my friend. Be careful when somebody try to buy something in such store.

your friend was dumb on 2 counts.

1. go SLS buy HP
2. hand over money before seeing phone.

Darwinian evolution is cruel dude. i don't pity your friend

it's must be Water goods. (traditional chinese system)
Over here in SG, most of all the goods are set to Eng.
or worst it's been used before and repack them like new.

There are better and more reputable handphone shops around. If I wanna get a phone without contract, I tend to frequent Mobile Square at Far East Plaza there.

If signing contract, I'd just buy from Starhub shop, Singtel Hello store or M1.

Sometimes I wonder if it is that easy to make money in Singapore retailing - as in doing bad business - cheat, scam, whatever that is...

Even after various news, complaints and all sort of alerts - every new outburst shows that doing bad business is still being well compensated for...

The only way not to get more suckers going into those shops probably was to get police to cordon off the area permanently.

A price to pay for being lazy (Never do homework), greedy (Sure, maybe hundred bucks cheaper, but the salesman didn't tell you this don't have, that don't have and if must have, got to pay two hundred bucks more. GST not included, this and that...)
