There are many "replacements" to the Xiangyanglu Market. One is at the underground station for the Science and Technology Museum in Pudong.

There are others at the Peoples Square area too...

Hey guys! I'm from South America and will visit Shanghai in August. I was thinking maybe I can get some new PDA or laptop.
Do you know of good Electronics and computer stores in Shanghai? Can be any district! It would be nice if they have websites so I can check prices online. But if they don't I will check them out anyway.
Thanks!

Take the metro to Xujiahui station in Shanghai. almost all the shopping centres there sell heaps of electronics stuff.
but not all the items there are cheap.. i estimate only around 30% of the stuff there are cheaper than Singapore's.

Thanks! Even if it's more a little more expensive than Singapore or USA it will be less expensive than here.
I heard there was a Best Buy opening in Shanghai. Any idea whether it has opened yet?

yeap its opened already been there in march. prices of items are slightly higher than those in sg.

I suggest that u dont take the metro. Try taking cabs in shanghai. the metro lines are so messy even locals get lost there..

u will be disappointed wif chinas best buy, its quite small about 1/3 the size of american best buy i would say and also more overpriced than stuff in xujiahui. And also no point taking metro even though its dirt cheap. taxis are super cheap also, not like in america, cheaper than singapore also so its more convenient to get a taxi and they r everywhere on the streets.

i found the metro lines quite easy to navigate..
but ya, taking the taxi is quite a good idea since u don't have to deal with the crowds. don't even think of taking the metro during peak hours (i tried. and almost lost my life there )
