Okay, now I have a hole in my pocket lol. But I've always wanted to experience First Class on SQ. So now I'm going to be financially prudent (ironically) and look for a cheaper hotel.

Do you guys have any hotels to recommend?

I understand most of the attractions are in Kowloon but would staying on HK Island be a good idea? I understand there is a convenient ferry across. I'm not pretty particular about hotels, any reasonable 2-3 star quality hotel is fine for me as I'd probably spend most of my time other then sleep out of the hotel.

I found some reasonably-priced hotels:

Hong Kong Sky City Marriot
Its a cheap 5 star hotel! but its located near the airport. Will it be too far off from town?

Renaissance Harbour View
Another reasonably-priced 5 star hotel near the CBD.

Regal Oriental, Kowloon

i like proton prudential as it is just above the nathan mrt excellent location. Although rooms are rather smaller but it is clean and comfortable.

wow nice! it's really cool trust me. the experience you get in the airport is so different from the normal business class stuff.

Binbin: My itinerary is First Class one way, Business class on the return leg. Its about $3000. I booked it directly through SQ which is of course the cheapest way.

lulu: Yeah, there's a First Class Check-In wing of T3 I heard about. I look forward to it. I think there are also about 5 lounges at the airport here you can use on when on SQ's First Class.

VIP treatment haha... be sure to check out the first class lounge, they got mini-buffet, haagen daz ice-creams, small collection of alcohols, even a chief cooking on-site for you...

dont stay near the airport its really far from town.. I visit HK often as my family has an apartment at Tung Chung which is the end station(near airport) like pasir ris so the trip to shopping areas such as mongkok and causeway bay is really really long and far best you just get a hotel somewhere more centralised =] and 1 more thing try not to take a cab its very costly

So I heard. It would be a first for me. Looks like these are all the lounges I'll be able to access at Changi:

Silverkris Lounge (T2)- Business and FirstClass Sections
Silverkris Lounge (T3)- Business and First Class Sections
Silverkris Lounge (T3)- The Private Room (for paid First Class travellers)
Krisflyer Gold Lounge (the one meant for Star Alliance Gold passengers)
Qantas Club
Royal Thai Lounge
British Airways Lounge

I understand I can use the last 3 since SQ is in the Star Alliance. Maybe I'll just pop into them to see what they're like heh

really? did'nt try that one before... at which terminal is it located at?? i thought the SiA first class lounge is already the top... since you heard DBS has even better one... cant imagine O_O hahaha
