Hi guys,

I am going bintan on the 23rd.
Going to stay at angsoka villa, bintan lagoon resort.
The thing i am concern on is food.
I heard is very expensive right?
We want to save up on food and play more water sports such as jet ski.

Any place to intro for food there?
Is there mini mart there too?

don't need to bring rupiah at all... all in SGD.. and it's farking exp..

basically resort area is a huge chunk of land loan to SG for 30 yrs for development.

if u go pasar oleh oleh, it's quite a distance from bintan lagoon - approx 30mins drive away. But it's still within the sterile "Resort development zone", and it's still in SGD too!

TS, you want cheap cheap food, change some rupiah, ask them to transfer you to Bintan Lodge, thats where their hotel staffs and some locals get their food but all are in rupiah. Nevertheless, you have to consider how much they will charge you for the transfer.

Alternatively, you may go to Pasar Oleh Oleh which is near the ferry terminal. I think they do provide free shuttle there (not sure about this). Food serve there a relatively cheaper than those in resorts.

Water Sports there especially jet ski will cost you a bomb already. Be prepared to pay a bomb.

Yep...Pasar Oleh Oleh is generally cheaper than those found in resort.

Resort area is never a cheap place lah, so you just need to bring more SGD!!

I'd some pamphlets on food delivery, and it does looks cheaper than those at resort. I'd not try it - keeping the pamphlets and intend to try it for the next trip...haha!
I'll need to go back home to dig it out, will PM you the details if you need it.

Cheers!

Not really recommanded to bring yr own frozen food. Cause for example yr boat is like maybe 8am, u will reach ard 9plus.
Check in is ready at ard 2plus.

hi! guys/gals,

Went home to find the phamplets, but cannot find leh...will try again this weekend when I have more time...
Will PM all who wants this if I get to find it...

Btw, if you reach the ferry stn (in Bintan), there's pple distributing these, so just grab from them.

Last time we went, we get the Bintan Villa, so we can do cooking. And, yes, we bring our own frozen stuff, packed in ice-box so still can last lah!

But, you have to do some planning, like what u will have for breakfast, lunch and dinner for each day, if you intend to cook all 3 meals. If not, you will either have too little food or too much...haha!

For those who are doing cooking, do remember to get a small bottle of cooking oil, soya sauce, and so on.

It's really fun...looking forward to another trip there....

Cheers!

Anyway, things are damn ex.
Really very ex. like $4 or $6 for 1liter of coke.

And bring canned food, instant noodles. Each meal there is about $20 - $30.

There's a cheap place you can go to, I do not know the name.

Take the resort transfer to Pasir Olek, upon reaching, walk along a small road, then you should see alot of hostel-style accommodation on the left, just go straight and you will see a "Singapore Style" hawker centre, selling mostly Nasi Padang stuff...got provision shops to change S$ to Rupiah, buy snacks, etc

Just ask the hotel staff, how to get there...

why bintan? everything there is farking X, i would recommend you go langkawi, its abit far but sea sports is cheaper then bintan about half the price and its charging ringgit there. Air-ticket is less than $100 during promo which is going on now on tiger airways.
