Met this Russian guy on his SG registered Suzuki Impulse..... He was riding alone up to Cameron Highlands for a touch and go ride. Didnt intend to stay there overnight. I wonder how he could take riding @ 19c (according to my onboard temp meter) with a t-shirt!



Had a leisurely ride to the Thai Border.. Reached @ 1030hrs.

On the way to Hat Yai, saw this that i have not seen on my previous trips up north.



There seems to be a strong touch of Singapore in Hat Yai Town.... Singapore Hotel, Singapore Travel Agency etc etc...

Visited the morning local market this morning. The amount of food displayed there was overwhelming! :giddy:

I like the way they packaged the fish.



Preserved eggs. They taste fantastic!
They actually stuffed two yolks into each shell half.




This has to be the best muah chee i have ever tasted!

Riding up the nearby mountain of Hat Yai rewards me with a spectacular view of the area...

No. It's not a spectacular view of that dustbin!












Unfortunately. the statue was going through a facelift at that time thus explaining the presence of the scaffolding.

This dessert... Has glazed outsides and is shaped and colored like fruits. The inside contains green bean paste.



The Thais seem to love dogs alot judging by the number of them kept as pets.

Hat Yai Train Station...



On 18/2 i set off from Hat Yai, hoping to make it to Kanchanaburi by evening.

While topping up fuel, saw this on the car's bonnet. Creative way to advertise! Their petrol stations are all full service stations, meaning the attendants will help even the kup kias to top up fuel.


Some of the petrol stops i came across had pretty interesting decorations...

was riding along when i suddenly smelled a strong banana smell... After 2km, i found the reason for that.
