Problem with Ovation External Hard Disk (Seagate 120GB) TuTu_CaR Sep 3rd, 07, 12:29 AM #1

Hi all,

I recently bought an external hard disk from Comex 2007.

The model and brand is OVATION 2.5" SEAGATE EXTERNAL HARDISK 120GB.

Getting very furstrated as I cannot get it to work.

1) There is no manual.
2) The driver CD is full of files. I don know which one is the driver or manual or related files.
3) When I plug in my office laptop, nothing happens? No pop up asking me to install driver, no detection in my computer. I even try plugging in 2 USB heads.
4) When I plug into my home desktop, my computer hang straight away!
5) When I try to plug into my dad's laptop, the laptopo auto restart!

@__@

I need help. Most likely will go back to the service center to bang table, but I will like to hear more opinions first before any possible "carrot-head" situations.....

Do you need to connect power to your external hard disk?

If I am not wrong, some laptop usb can't provide enough power to drive the hard disk. You try it on a desktop see how.

Ok I will call them up today.

There is a DC power slot, but the problem is I was not given a DC power adapter, they told me if no power just plug in the 2 USB head....
