Installing 4Gbs ram in win xp/vista 32bit aidonia Dec 11th, 07, 08:55 PM #1 (permalink)
I read that xp cannot support fully 4Gb of ram that it will not show up as 4GB. Question is what is max ram xp can take. Any performance increase if i add more ram to my current 3 GB????????

max 3.25gb, but no difference from 2g cos 32bit apps also can't use over 2g

win xp takes longer to start up now at least in my opinion but apps start up faster now maybe cos my rams are at 1000mhz from 676mhz.

alot of stuff is theoretical what is shown on paper doesn't translate directly to real world performance, so u can't say it will be 4 x the applications. n u must use 64bits app where alot of drivers still unavailable

imagine having 2GB ram compared to 8GB ram???
8GB will obviously have a faster loading time for most games.
the difference is even seen between 2GB and 4GB :|
