Bluescreen den auto reboot crazirvd Jan 27th, 08, 11:33 AM #1

Hi all, my friend just got his rig yesterday specs is as followed :
MSI P35-neo2 FR , 2 x Kingston DDR2 800, XV 8800GT 512MB, WD Caviar SE 500GB,
Andyson 500W PSU, X-FI xtremegamer.

He told me that his com will show a blue screen with many words on it and then straight away reboot (can't see the words since its too fast) when he uses flashget sometimes. It happened the second time already.
Mobo bios is default factory bios cos he didnt flash it.
GFX driver also default from CD.

Anyone can help on this? Thanks

Its okay if you cannot see the blue screen because the O/S will have already recorded the error codes shown on the blue screen and compiled it into a dump file and a report. You can find those files in your computer.

As for whats the cause of the error, its too early to tell. Most likely due to a driver conflict problem or corrupted system file. I suggest you flash your bios and update all your drivers from the company websites. If it still crashes, then go find the error report and note down the BCCode and other error codes and search the web for help.

I've got that same problem. Both on my vista & XP service 2 packs...

I donno why but on my vista, twice on fifa manager 2008 it crashes with a blue screen. I brought it to the shop, updated everything, changed the parts etc and somehow it still happens. Now my vista is cranky and i can't download anymore updates. May reformat the vista AGAIN like 4 times. this will be the 5th time..

Also on the XP, i do get problems on the some games like Fifa manager 2008 AGAIN and once on my window media player. I turned it on to watch dvds, and it reboots with a blue screen. I wont say that it happens ALL the time, but this stinking problem has bugged me since sept when i got the pc and it usually blood occurs every 1-2 months...

I wouldn't put too much hope on it running for juz a few days!!!

If anyone can help me with my problem, I thank you in advance.

LOL, you actually brought the pc to a shop to have 'everything' updated? What do you mean by everything?

Do you know what they did exactly? Because I know some shops will short change customers when they know they're customers are not very knowlegeable about computers.

The best is still do go online and search for the various drivers and updated bios' and install it yourself, only then you can be sure that you did everything correctly. My Vista Home Premium has been working fine for the past 2 weeks after I re-installed it due to a corrupted system file.

If you cannot download updates and they have not been installed, it means that the updates are already in your computer but may have been corrupted (thus cannot be installed). You'll have to manually delete the update files which are located somewhere in the Windows folder and then you'll be able to re-download the update from the microsoft site. I did it before.
