Question is why am I encountering the above error while sending emails using Outlook Express in some hotspots and in others, I am able to send. Is it cuz some of the routers have restricted port 25?

Thanks!

Hello Tec Girl,

This is because some ISP's or networks that you connect to block port 25 to prevent spam. Changing to the secondary port 26 or 587 will assist in these kind of situations. Also, using webmail is another option for you.

If your still having trouble with this error, I have a site bookmarked that has laid out a step by step process to find a resolution to this error. I usually pass it on to friends who have problems connecting which usually ends up in a simple account setting that missed. http://computerquestionhelp.com/0x800CCC0E.html The error basically means you can't connect because of something unknown. Usually this is pretty easy to figure out. If you can't there are a ton of guides online like the one I listed above. Good Luck everyone Angela,
