Acer Extensa 4620(laptop) Charging Issues? Andy0601a Mar 15th, 08, 08:20 AM #1

Hi guys,

Firstly, when i power it up. With my battery and power chord attached, the power status currently is 96% remaining/Plugged in not charging. I'm wondering is this normal as if both the battery and power chord is attached, ain't the status be plugged in and charging or something like that?

Secondly, i can't seem to hit the 100% battery status. What i tried was, i powered the laptop down.. insert my switched on power chord and "charged" it.. and the battery led status did light up and i assumed it's charging. I left it thinking it's charging from 14march 11+pm to next day 15march around 7+am. When i power up again with my power chord and battery attached on the 15th of march in the morning, my power status is 96% available/plugged in , not charging.

I went a little wtf, because before i left it powered down and charging.. the battery status was 97% available/plugged in , not charging. So right now i'm thinking is it that the battery has issues making it impossible to charge? And why can't i get status like plugged in / Charging? Instead i always get the plugged in / not charging status? Maybe only when i hit certain percentage level will the battery passively use plugged in power and charging the battery hence plugged in / charging?

What about the percentage of the battery remain? I can't seem to hit 100% even though i left in powered down and charging for like more than 7 hours? Is it even charging in the first place? Dam confused right now, can someone help me.. purchased ytd.

If its charging, you will know coz when you mouse over the power option icon @ the taskbar, it will pop-up a message saying that its charging right?

As stated, when i go over to the taskbar, the battery status is (plugged in / not charging). Even though my power cord is attached and switch on with battery in my laptop.
