FYI,

HSF, fan and the CPU is needed in RMA...

So if the leg broken, might be void the warranty...

It is confirmed by me that we need the HSF, fan and the CPU for RMA purpose

Anyway, nice guide on retify the broken leg

I am very sure intel would void your warranty if you send in a HSF with 1 broken leg. They would put it down as user's fault causing improper sitting of HSF thereby inducing damage to processor due to thermal stress. You can try it.

Nope I did not break it on purpose. I'm installing like a end user PROPERLY.
I press down I heard click* So i Assume its lock properly and when i on my pc it keeps shutting down. Go bios check 70++ degrees -.-'

Remove mobo and you know the white colour plastic part the lock behind the mobo? Part of it broke off. Now tell me wad to do?
So i remove all the legs without any damage at all other den the unknown reason why it broke.

If you dunno anything dun assume.

Add on, any HSF will do for warranty, if you have friend using 3rd party cooler you can borrow their stock fan which it has proven to BE ABLE TO CLAIM WARRANTY.

Nice Find...
according to Intel, they have a database of batch dates and will use that if you didn't provide ur reciept.

So no receipt still rma-able.

Just a random question, hmm if so happens your stock hsf is spoilt.
and you happily go down sls and buy a new stock hsf, after which the cpu broke down. You go back to intel for rma with a new working stock Hsf and reciept, Rma-able?

Just curious

Yes tried, thats why have plastic washer to sandwich the mobo..
its to prevent Screw & HSF metal parts touching mobo.
