I heard it is best that you always get amd board and ATI graphic card due to some incompatibility issue. Is that true ?

i am intending to buy this motherboard
GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Overview - GA-MA78GM-US2H (rev. 1.0)

would it be compatible with a nvidia 9800GTX+ ?
