Lets say if i have an intel chip e7400, and i sold my original HSF long ago... if i want to claim back the warranty, is it possible to purchase an original e7400 HSF and intel will entertain this rma process?

does the intel hsf serial need to match the cpu chip?

Should work, intel will check the make of the fan, but it doesn't really matter as long as you have it.

seems to be the case bro. as he's selling it w/o warranty (no org. hsf). that's why i'm trying to find some other ways to re-aquire that warranty.

Just make sure it's a retail chip and not an OEM chip.

You can't claim warranty for OEM even if you have a matching HSF on hand..
