guys, i just bought my com last week.
my mobo have some problem, so i just got change today.
then when i reformat my com, and install the os.
after install the os, i wan to activate my window.
but each time i press active windows online now,
they said the product key you type cannot be used to activate windows on this computer. i tried retype my product key. there is no wrong. why i just cant activate.?

Call microsoft to verify your cd-key. You might be a victim of piracy. Just a guess. Not confirmed.

OEM OS is tied to the mobo so if you had previously activated your Win 7 on your Asus mobo, your current install on a Gigabyte mobo may have problems activating.

Actually had some issue activating my Vitsa online (newly installed in my surfing rig). Called the number 'cuz I went thru the entire phone activation crap and got zip.....quite cheesed off liao. KPKB at the poor girl on the other end of the line, said I'm installing in a different computer becuz mine's the full retail boxed version one.....i not scared cuz mine's legit one. Activated and asked for technical support number 'cuz I want to chew their ass off about this....knn, full retail boxed version and kena all this hassle.

Heh, same thing happen to me when I changed from Asus to Gigabyte mobo...

Use the automated phone activation method will do, just punch in the numbers as instructed and your good to go...

well, i do. but then they transfer the call to operator.
then talk to me, u know wad. they ask me why activate one more time.
i tell them the reason, they told me sorry, you have to buy the oem again. cos i have used. 1oem only can activate one time. i was really angry and talk to them back. they die die say sorry cannot cannot. then i hang up call the person i buy my com from. they help me about it. they will give me a reply by tmr

Full retail shouldn't have this problem to re-activate.
