LCD Monitor problem as the resolution get sets higher Beta_Tester Nov 5th, 09, 09:45 PM #1 (permalink)
Using HIS HD 4870 plus Dell 3007. Link them up using Dual Link DVI-D cable.

I cant seems to go up higher resolution. Say the 2560 by 1600. If i set it to that. I see some bright pixels fickling. I nt sure why. But when I check using DPT Dead pixel check or set at lower resolution like 1024 by 768 no such problem.. So cant be LCD spoil.Whats up? Anyone knows?

Actually in low resolution when i play games i see many flickling pixels too..
Thanks.

The bigger the resolution the slower the refresh rate. It is a setback on all LCD monitors.

So basically, i think your 3007 has a max refresh rate of 60hz which is the same as my 2408 if i am not wrong.

For CRT, it does have many range of refresh rate because it's a different technology thus that's the reason why gamers prefer CRT when LCD were launched initially as LCD does have lag @ that point of time. But with technology advancement, the lag problem has been resolved.

I strongly feel that your monitor is faulty. Give dell a call and see how it goes.

CCC do have some other adjustment options besides refresh rates that you might want to explore around.

btw, tried another video card yet?

Try enabling Alternate DVI Operation or Reduce DVI Frequency from CCC and see if helps.
