For many of my clients, 3.5 is the slowest loading program ever made. For some it takes nearly 2 minutes to load initially, whether in Safe mode or regular. It seems that many are complaining about this on the Internet.

I dun have such problem. FYI, I am only using 1GB of RAM on a 3-year-old Mac.

My Firefox 3.5 loads very fast.

However, my IE on my April 2009 Windows notebook loads slower.

No offense, but this article should be removed !! there are more bugs in this release that IE !!! I been using FF since time began.....

I have spent the day in the FF support forums reporting issues, mouse cursor disappearing, pages saying "page not found" ebay licks stalling, security issues with https logings the list goes on !! many others are complaining about the same problems and more, i am now reverting back to 3.3 until this release is fixed up.

Just a word of warning anyway guys and gals.

Seems pretty much the same as 3.0.11 to me, loads about the same, rock-solid as far as I can tell.

The New Tab button was a little confusing at first, I keep clicking it when I am shutting down a string of tabs, but it is useful.

Any word on improved Flash performance? That I would like to see.

Err, 2 mins loading time? Wot the fish Sounds more like a problem of a seriously outdated computer more than anything else.

From my experience, 3.5 uses a lot less RAM than 3.0. No idea about bugs, zero problems here.

We don't know who your clients. You might be referring to those computers which have joined domain to Active Directory and installed with some well-known resource hog antivirus would, of course, experience a snail speed in performance. That is either Windows or AV issues, not Firefox as you make out to be.

Who care what your clients use? what has it got to do with you when you are using the Firefox youself? Just don't let other people affect you.

I have this problem too.. syscev Jul 9th, 09, 01:36 PM #14 (permalink)
I have this problem too and don't say my system is slow.. haha.. Specs below..

There seems to some kind of problem with the session restore once you load the browser. Having many open tabs previously seems to directly related to the problem. On my home PC it just takes a while to load on my office notebook where i always open lots of tabs... after a long wait I get an error stating the previous session window cannot be restored.

I have no such problem with the previous release. FF 3.5 is certainly buggy, hope the have a patch soon for these performance problems.

Firefox 3.5 doesn't work out for me. It uses a lot more memory than 3.0.11, and the GUI is laggy at times. I've since switched back to 3.0.11.
