LED edge-lit TVs offer superb image quality, but the downside is they aren't exactly cheap. But it looks like Sharp has plans to offer an affordable HDTV, which comes in the form of Aquos LC-40LB700M, without compromising on features and performance. It is scheduled to be available in late October or early November at S$2,799 which is lower than most LED TVs of similar size. The Sharp Aquos LC-40LE700M (S$2,299) is currently retailing in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.

I wonder how does this compares with Samsung LED 6 and 7 Series ? LED TV are too pricey compared to LCD (whose prices have come down considerably) in my opinion.
