These mice cost nearly double of Microsoft's offerings, particualrly the notebook one. I'm not convinced that being able to work on glass surfaces minimally 4mm thick is worth all the extra $$$. After all, I don't think it's too much of a hassle to bring along a mousepad or just use a piece of paper under the mouse.

actually what makes me choose logitech over microsoft is the wireless dongle, cos having a dongle permanently on the lappy is what i need. having to keep plugging in and having a restrictive dongle just turns me off.

Erm, maybe you have not noticed but the latest Microsoft mice have the nano receiver as well.

is it?

the last IT Fair i went, they're still selling the Arc or something, the dongle still very big... and i asked them if they have any smaller dongles which they said no. So persuaded my friend to get a VX nano instead.

Just to add on, Microsoft's Bluetrack Technology allows the mouse to be used on certain glass surfaces, despite what the disclaimer states. I have tried it out and it's smooth enough for regular usage.

Quite shocking that Logitech's offering is priced so uncompetitively against Microsoft this time round.

Spot-on. Surprising it's not Microsoft who's guilty here.

Apologies for digressing, but anyone saw the price for Windows 7 retail in Singapore ?
