I'm more interested in non-ref cards myself from a hardware enthusiast point of view, since going through 'identical cards' are quite boring for a reviewer
dats y i was expecting da Xpertvision 7600GT 2b in da lead coz it was not using Nvidia'a reference design .. but in da end Leadtek won

How much would that 50-cal pistol cost? Assuming it's the real deal...

Feel like shooting XFX for looking like a letdown.

I was hoping that XpertVision would hit at least 850 comfortably with its 1.2ns RAM. What can be the problem now?

If you look at the reference cards and non-reference cards... nvidia reference uses better capacitors, not sure if that makes a difference.

non-reference cards are probably built to lower costs of production ie lesser caps and "lower quality/cheaper" caps.

Besides these are just single cards from an entire batch of reference cards. Its probably luck that decides overclocking capabilities.

it sometimes varies from card to card on how far it could be overclocked as well or rather, your luck on the card..... and maybe because he's using an open concept too which definately might do some help to its cooling...

Ur partly right in a sense luck determines the oc capabilities. But non-reference cards have really good stuff oso. For example EVGA cards.
