This is actually a shoutbox... usually hog a lot of resources on server. I'm not sure if the Ajax version of Shoutbox affects the performances on VR's server or not but it can be tedious job to the management to monitor the shoutbox when some jokers/spammers make use of the function to spam adverts or virus links...
