i just realise that the search icon is replaced with Quick Links. I do believe quite a few of forumers do use the search function to find out update on recent post so it maybe good to have the search button back in addition to the Quick Links

Isn't there a search box beside the quick links?

search is back on the control bar. Clicking on 'Search' will bring you to the search page, whereas you can also type in your search in the dropdown menu for a quick search.
