Fair and Square on Marketing Forum (Items in Auction) theandycreation Nov 5th, 09, 12:12 AM #1 (permalink)
Hi

After sometime of viewing at VRZ, I've noticed that some seller post their item for auction without a ending date. That's not fair from my point of view. Because, bidder will never know when will the ending bid. In other words, if i am the seller, i can just wait down there like nobody business and stop the auction when it hits my desired target. Also, if the seller scared that the item is sold without any gain, he/she can always start with a starting bid. I've an example below:-

Item #1 - xxxxx
Description - 20" x 20" x 20" Black
Condition - 10/10
Auction ending at 15 Nov 2009 VRZone Time@2359 Hrs
Self Collect at xxxxx

Interested please call +65 91234567

I am sorry if i offend any of the people here, this is just my 2 cent thought.... Thanks!

The aution here is different from others, they are selling second hand item that has low value as compare to eBay which most are new items and it come with assurance; high-class auction would have to bid in a day with the highest one win.

What do you mean by scare? The buyer would take an advantage by waiting for the last minute bidding if you understand this tactic "The last one win".

Now you should understand the seller's point of view.
Veni, vidi, vici "I came, I saw, I conquered."

A lot of people are afraid of heights. Not me. I'm afraid of widths.

yea i noe wat u meant when sellers acherlly wait for ppl to hit bnp ... makes no point in putting a SB and noting ppls Bids down when they wait for someone to hit their BNP then sell their item

but what prosby2 says is true too ... to rectify this problem is acherlly all in the buyer not the seller ...(example) bid your item at 52$ if close by monday 12 october (example)

but at least be reasonable with the timing and dont try to bid and wanting to end the auction within the same day ...try giving it like 3 to 5 days space so that seller can receive more bids

P.S.-Superb orh proby2 , u post 3 hours faster than Andy
