yum yum very tasty unit. they must have ben really bz developing this unit.
so mani new features such as temp monitoring compared to my old unit.
LK204-25-GW

guess the only dislike is that it uses a "FTDI" chipo for conversion of serial to usb signal.

hey, at least there is serial pin-out for com ports.

ps: can anyone loan me its CD? cos my original disc was a CD-R and it suffered from data corrupt

That is a really cool gadget, maybe one day I will be motivated enough to build a system that has both looks and performance
For now I just gotta settle for one

Matrix orbital products isnt sold in SG.
need to order direct from em or its distro

as for the temp probes, it shouldn't matter rite? since u can source for better probes.

anyway there isnt any drivers u need to install except for the "FTDI" serial ->usb driver if ur using the usb interface. serial interface, no need just the LCDC program will do.

i wanna to loan the CD so i can complete my MO collection and kinda lazy to source for em online also mah.

besides compairing to crystalfont's and natriumtech's unit, this has more features. especially the GPO, can use it to control other stuff like ur phasechange unit and stuff.

Hey guys!

How is everyone?! This post is a little old, but I'll see i anyone needs anything. I am 1 of 2 Sales Rep's at Matrix Orbital, so feel free to dump any questions on me.

However, I am not as technical as I wish I were, but I do have a question:

Quote:

What are the cons of the FTDI chip? What would be ideal? I'm sure our engineer has reasoning, but I'd like to see what you guys have to say.

All drivers, utilities, software, manuals, etc are available on our support site at http://www.matrixorbital.ca

If you have any stores that you would really like to see our product in please let me know and I will do my best to try and get distribution in SG!

I'd love to send you a disc, however we have discontinued the discs, as they were simply a copy of the manual and software, which is all available online. Along with forums that we interact in daily for anyone who has questions.

2007 looks to be very promising as we will be releasing our new GX Series, which will feature a graphic display, drive mount, and a remote control. There will be add on expansion cards to allow for additional control over other devices, including your stereo, tv, dvd players, etc.

Drop me a line if you have any questions guys! Take Care!

Regards,
Nick Hesson

welcome to vr-zone forum
Matrix Orbital has come a long way since then.

hope to see more exciting stuff.
yes, using a serial->usb conversion chip does shorten development time and hassle on getting it to work on virtually any OS.
