SSD with win7 is definitely worthwhile
just a note though try to get MLC SSD that are supports GC or Trim. ie: Intel G2 or Indilinx

I'm not certain if Samsung's unit support GC or Trim yet.

I just got myself the Intel G2 80 + Win7 Pro. Definitely thumbs up. As they say, the best upgrade you can give your computer right now. And my system is a 2 year old Q6600

From my understanding of reviews out in the wild, Intel is the way to go, and the price difference is not that great either.

which shop sell cheapest intel g2? thinking of getting 2, 1 for lappy, 1 for desktop, and also hopefully can get cheap win7 pro, need 2 as well.

I have SSD 256 GB on my laptop - I upgraded about 6 to 7 months ago. I must say that my SSD is definitely worth it (I got it for a good price with my laptop) - the performance boost and the transfer speed is so much better compared to SATA drive.

I should also mention that I noticed the transfer speed is probably 5 times better when I transfer data to and fro an external hard drive.
